postgrad studies to become "capital quant"

Postby jimmyb » Tue Feb 11, 2014 11:41 pm

I am in Australia. I hold a BElec Eng/BSc Physics and wish to pursue further studies to become qualified to be a back/middle office quant on portfolio or risk side. Ideally, I am looking to be in a position that is mostly based on modelling and analysis. My second priority is trading/hedge fund (ie I'll apply for it if it comes up).

What qualification should I pursue? UTS MSc Quant Finance? UNSW FInance Maths? Finance phd? or even Elec phd?

Dr. Joshi, thanks for the neat derivation under S-measure. Also, I did the long hand calculation and was able to have those additional terms cancelled.
