Phd for quant career

Hi,
I am facing few problems and I need your advice.

1.I am 25 and I just finished my BSc and planning to do Honours but in
Melbourne uni I had few issues so it took me 6 years for my BSc.
My issues will resolve with time or they might remain there so I was
looking to me that I should apply for Phd in Sydney or
Adelaide.
Do you know other unis with people as active as Daniel Deufrense or Kostya
Borovkov.

3.I will be 30 when I get Phd and then I want to go to London for quant
job.Is 30 too old to start a career(I took 2 years off during my BSc and
and have no work experience).

I can't say how your 6 year BSc will affect you but I can tell you that my friend got his PhD last year and has managed to land a quant job. He got his job when he was 31 (although he did do a Master's course too in those years). His undergrad + masters (I think) were in Germany, PhD in the UK and he's now working in Switzerland. Astrophysics PhD + study of Joshi and Wilmott 'entry level' textbooks. I'm hoping a similar tactic will work for myself!

Do you think it is better to do Phd in Physics or Math?I hear from people that Physics Phd gives you skills in Math and programminng and computer solving,Math Phd is in one straight field,unless it is specialized Phd in Financial Math.I know few people here in Adelaide who are experts in Econophysics and I want to work under them.Do you think its Ok.
