Hi Mark,
I already have some basic C++ skills from self-learning (with the help of your book) and I have done a numerical computation subject in Matlab from UNSW before. I am thinking to enrol in a C++ subject in the university and I found two subjects available in UTS. One is offered in the Master of Quantitative Finance program and I have heard it teaches on how to use C++ to solve financial problems. The other is offered in the computer science department that is called Principles of Object-oriented programming in C++ and this subject is non-finance related but probably focuses on how to write proper object-oriented programs. Which subject do you think is better for a quant career especially for a front office role in derivatives? Thanks for your advice.
